AMRIT is more than a name, more than a city, more than a dish, more than a restaurant. AMRIT means “holy nectar” and comes from the Sikh religion. AMRIT flows in the sacred springs in the mountains, AMRIT surrounds the Golden Temple in Amritsar, AMRIT is the water of life.

Papa Bans, father of Balbir and Harmeet Bans, is a Sikh and raised his sons in this religion. The holiest place for Sikhs is in AMRITSAR, Punjab, the birthplace of their father. AMRIT is therefore a word with great significance for the brothers, also in relation to their family.

For Sikhs, the Golden Temple is THE holy place. The four doors of the temple are always open to people of all religions around the world. Everyone is welcome and even receives a free meal if needed. The water surrounding the temple is called AMRIT.

Your next visit to us at AMRIT in Berlin might be experienced with a different perspective. Many of our staff members are also Sikhs, and you can recognize them by their turbans. There is a dish named after the city of AMRITSARI, and nearly all of our waiters speak Punjabi, the language of the Sikhs.

[1

post-653","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-unkategorisiert
